History of The da Vinci Academy
The da Vinci Academy was opened as a place for "arts and ideas" in August 2003 by Lew Davis, the school's first principal and a team of committed teachers, who saw the value of arts integration. Soon after it opened the school won a National School of Distinction Award and performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. It was also recognized as a 2006 School of Excellence from the Colorado Alliance for Arts Education. Most recently, it was recognized as outstanding arts schools for the state of Colorado by Think 360 and the Colorado Department of Education.
We enter today with continued passion and focus on integrating the arts and sciences to give our students the best possible learning experience that we strongly believe in and which the school was founded upon. Please look at the building tour to see more of what the school is about.
