Leo's Learning Garden
The TdVA Learning Garden is located behind the school. It consists of an outdoor classroom, several planter boxes, fruit and spruce trees, butterfly and sensory gardens, and the start to a legacy path. The garden is used by the entire student body and looked after by the Green Dragons Club, who runs the school composting program. Over the summer, volunteers sign up to come water, pull weeds, and kleep the garden in great shape.
Last school year we were excited to add a tile mosiac and modular log seating with help from Concrete Couch and a Think 360 Grant. Another grant from the Academy 20 Foundation, will let us add a butterfly garden, a native plants area, a rock garden, and pumpkin patch.
Check out an article in Landscape Online about the garden.
For the Future
Future garden plans include adding a path to link to neighborhood to the garden that shows the various lifezones in Colorado. To help fund this and offset other garden cost, please consider contributing to the Legacy Path.
Legacy Path Details
The TdVA Legacy Path is an excellent way to support the garden and be a part of daVinci for many years to come. You can order a legacy brick at anytime. For details: Legacy Stone 2017.pdf
